In this work, by placing semi-transparent films on the glass façade of the museum with cut out numbers that symbolize time, the view of outside landscape is continuously changed. Visitors change along with the light passes through the numbers. The museum itself is transformed by these ever-changing windows.
“Changing Landscape / Changing Museum” considers the landscape, the museum, its visitors, and people who interact with it from the interior to the exterior. Time is taken into account through the continuous transformation of all these elements.
Miyajima invited the residents of Wuppertal to co-create this artwork. Numbers are decided by each participant using a special dice.
