This work was presented at an exhibition in Korea.

The "38" in the title comes from the 38th parallel of the border between North and South Korea. Miyajima presents questions about the fact that the same people have been divided by war and have remained so for so long.

The work is attracted by the long straight lines, which are made up of LEDs with numbers representing time and life. Each one counts at a different speed. A long straight line reveals a border, which is then divided by darkness and the line is broken. Miyajima shows the fragility of borders and the time it takes for people to change them.
