The LEDs count down from 9 to 1 repeatedly, but do not display 0. Instead, they turn to darkness and then return to 9, continuing the countdown. When the LEDs reset from 0 to the next count, they change to various colors, including black. Additionally, the speed of the countdown changes simultaneously, with both color and speed being reborn from 0, evolving constantly.
The countdown from 9 to 1 symbolizes "life," while the darkness at 0 symbolizes "death." The endless repetition of this process represents the eternity of the concept of *”Seimei," which encompasses both life and death in its totality. In Buddhism, this is referred to as "Samsara," the cycle of reincarnation, where a person is reborn in various forms after death. The different colors represent the various forms of "Seimei." Some may appear as black (void) and remain unlit, symbolizing an invisible form of "Seimei." The speed of each LED reflects the individual time axis of each "Seimei."
In this work, each LED represents its own "Seimei," existing on different time axes. These "Seimei" come together to form a larger world, resonating and interacting with each other. This world demonstrates that there is no "Seimei" that is wasted.
Cf. "Seimei" (生命) refers to the comprehensive idea of life, being, existence and consciousness.
